Release date: March 21
Pricing: ¥48,400 yen

Timberland has launched its first joint collaboration with Japanese handmade leather brand Hender Scheme to inject high-end texture into the classic American shoe 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe. In this cross-cultural collaboration, Hender Scheme reinterprets this iconic college-style shoe through top-notch leather and innovative design.

This joint shoe model uses untreated full-grain leather from a local tannery in Japan. Over time, the upper will gradually oxidize from light beige to dark brown, presenting a unique natural patina, giving each pair of shoes a unique personality. The two parties said in response to this joint cooperation: “There will not be two pairs of identical shoes in the world”, successfully highlighting the exclusive charm brought by handmade production and accumulation of time.

While retaining the original outline of Timberland's classic 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe, Hender Scheme uses thick top-notch leather as the design core, giving the shoe a more luxurious visual texture. Overall details include the Timberland logo still on the side of the shoe, showing a classic American style; the Hender Scheme word is low-key imprinted on the side leather label, and is accompanied by a detachable diamond-shaped leather tag, highlighting the brand's handmade leather craftsmanship. Finally, the toe is decorated with a retro tassel design to add nostalgia, while the lace holes replace the metal hole ring with embossed leather perforations, showing a more modern aesthetic through delicate craftsmanship.
