Louis Vuitton has officially debuted for the FIA Formula 1 World Championships

At the Formula 1® 75 event in O2, London, the trophy of the Formula 1 World Championship stands in a specially customized Louis Vuitton hardbox. As part of Formula One’s 75th anniversary celebration and season launch, all ten teams, drivers and team leaders will unveil the paint designs they each adopted in 2025 with fans for the first time.

The collaboration is part of the official collaboration between Formula 1® and Louis Vuitton, and the FIA Formula 1 Championship™’s Hardbox Trophy will be awarded to the Best Driver of the Season at the end of the year.

The FIA Formula 1 Championship™ Hardbox Trophy is well-crafted by Louis Vuitton's historic workshop in Asnières, France. The two folding front panels of the suitcase are hand-drawn in classic black and white colors of Damier checkerboards, representing “Victory” and “Vuitton”, which are reminiscent of the color and finish line of Formula 1®. The box is covered with black leather/microfiber to protect the trophy, and the box is decorated with leather trim and is made of classic brass corners, locks and buckles from Louis Vuitton suitcases that have been passed down from the 1860s.

In 1897, under the leadership of Georges Vuitton, son of Louis Vuitton, the first car suitcases were designed in this workshop. For the next 125 years, Louis Vuitton was always closely linked to automotive culture. When Georges Vuitton foresaw the popularity of cars and tourism, he created a durable canvas material called “Vuittonite” to replace leather to ensure that the suitcase can withstand the severe weather of wind and rain. This invention evolved into today's day The classic canvas used by Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton continues the brand tradition with this hard box trophy: to create hard boxes for easy transportation and display of trophy for the most popular and valued sports events in the world. From workshops to tracks, Louis Vuitton and Formula 1® closely connect the two fields of fashion and sports with overlapping themes such as teamwork, precision, and innovation, and jointly pursue great goals.
