Brand new games, cards, anime! Count down what will happen in the future of Pokémon

To celebrate “Pokémon Day”, The Pokémon Company launched the new Pokémon Presents, bringing series updates and new game intelligence.

The latest trailer for “The Legend of Pokémon ZA”

First of all, “Pokemon Legend ZA”, which has finally revealed more details since the game was released a year ago. As the spiritual sequel to the 2022 hit work “The Legend of Pokémon Arceus”, this work will lead players to the heart of the Carlos region, the city of Miaré, for a new adventure.

Similar to “Pokemon Legend Arceus”, this game has an open field area and introduces a capture mechanism closer to the main game. The story revolves around an old hotel called “Z Hotel”, which players will use as a base, and the owner of the hotel is AZ, the classic character of Pokémon X/Y, and his partner, Lady Floette.

The starting Pokémon includes chrysanthemum leaves, warm pigs and small saw crocodile, which is said to have obtained exclusive super evolution (this game will confirm that this classic combat mechanism will be reintroduced). In addition, the trailer also shows Ibrahimovic's various evolutionary forms, Shield Sword Monster, Kigerde, as well as Super Flamingo X/Y, Super Lucario and Super Garnado. The game will officially land on the Nintendo Switch in November 2025.

The new game “Pokemon Champion” debuts

The biggest surprise of Pokémon Presents this year is the release of the new game “Pokémon Champion”. This work was led and developed by Pokémon Works, with GAME FREAK participating in the planning, and the gameplay is centered on.

Although there is not much information disclosed by the official, the trailer shows that the game will adopt the turn-based battle system of the main line series, and special emphasis is on doubles battles, which may be in line with the official VGC (Pokemon Global Competition) rules.

The number of Pokémons available in the early stage of the game is limited, but it is confirmed that it will support both “Tai Crystalization” and “Super Evolution”. This is the first game that allows the coexistence of two major evolution mechanisms. In addition, this work not only logs on the Nintendo Switch, but also supports mobile devices, making it different from previous works of the rumor. The game is still in development and it will take a while before it is officially launched.

Besides that, there are more surprises

There is also a lot of exciting news in this preview. First of all, Super Evolution is about to return to the Pokémon TCG, and the official announcement of the launch of the new “Super Evolution Ex” series. This new series will bring back the “Super Evolution Pokémon Ex”. The Pokémon that has been released in the trailer include Super Lucario and Super Garnetto, and is scheduled to be released later this year.

In addition, Netflix's exclusive animated collection, “Pokemon Concierge”, has confirmed that it will launch a new series this September.

At the same time, the Pokémon TCG Pocket app also announced the launch of a new card package “Light of Victory”, which focuses on Pokémon as the Arceus ex, and will be officially launched on February 28.
