KENZO has held a women's clothing show again after more than 8 years. This season brings the party atmosphere back to the stand. The show “Lucky Me? Lucky You” is full of 1980s-style silhouettes, set against the music of Blondie, Patti Smith and Sex Pistols.
The series was inspired by re-styling her boyfriend’s Saville Row outfit, blending Oversize suits with familiar streetwear aesthetics, with transparent harem pants paired with well-tailored tuxedo jackets and baseball caps; the suspender top was pulled down and covered with loose trousers, paired with mesh tops and blazers to create a casual sensuality of “walk the next morning”.
In terms of accessories, the crystal-intact belt is engraved with the name of the brand and artistic director in sword font, and the Sain bag is decorated with feather edges, echoing the strong texture trend of this season. Plush elements are no less than that, with a toy rabbit similar to Beanie Baby being sewn into a casual sleeveless top. The subsequent look explores this plush toy aesthetic in Peep tones, with pink and light blue hoodie paired with a rabbit-eared design that sways down the stairs before entering the stand.
Overall, this series comes from the KENZO brand’s consistent pop art creativity. Unfortunately, Nigo, creative director at the end of the show, failed to show up for some reason, and design director Joshua A. Bullen also gave up the traditional bow.
