Jun Takahashi's UNDERCOVER continues to occupy an important position in the fashion circle, pushing the brand forward with its unique creative perspective. After announcing the 2025 autumn and winter series to the Paris Fashion Week women's clothing schedule, the brand ushered in its 35th anniversary show on the stand, reviewing history and looking forward to the future with rich symbols and innovative designs.
This show did not directly pay tribute to the brand's most representative item, but Takahashi Takahashi personally selected the series he considered the best as inspiration – from the 2004 autumn and winter series “But Beautiful…Part Parasitic Part Stuffed”. The 2025 autumn and winter series reinterprets the spirit of the series, combining Anne-Valerie Dupond's expanded soft sculpture art with Patti Smith's signature style to create a visual effect like a stuffed doll.
The opening look appeared in a pure white long-sleeved dress under the strong light, with sleeves hanging down and swinging with the model's pace, and it seemed to be rejuvenated in the dance with golden jewelry. Subsequently, UNDERCOVER announced the latest Champion joint series, launching tight round-neck sweatshirts, trousers and solid-color loose hoodies to continue the street functional style. The coat lining and casual clothing printed with flying butterflies also echo the inspiration of nature. At the same time, the soft coat and spliced denim continue the brand's signature tailoring, while the tassel cotton fabric adds a lazy atmosphere to the structural suit.
The whole show strikes a clever balance between nostalgia and innovation, bringing back classic elements of the past, such as exaggerated sharp-cornered shoulder lines and colorful shredded paper spliced jackets. The finale style is even more amazing, including two sets of inflated balloon dresses that became the focus of the audience. Then, the characters of the angel and the demon intertwined, wearing long shining dresses to launch a visual duel, and finally presented a strong dramatic tension with an exaggerated feathered robe, like a highly aggressive raptor.
