Apple officially announced the launch of the new MacBook Air, which has ultra-fast M4 chip performance, 18 hours of battery life, a 12-megapixel “Center” camera and a more affordable official price. In addition to the built-in monitor, it can also support up to two external monitors, 16GB unified memory, excellent features of macOS Sequoia, and Apple Intelligence. All the excitement is reflected in the extremely thin and durable design.
The MacBook Air series has added a new sky blue option. A beautiful and metallic light blue color, when light is refracted on its surface, it will show a dynamic gradient effect. Sky Blue adds existing midnight, starlight and silver to provide consumers with a range of bright MacBook Air color options. All color options including sky blue come with a MagSafe charging cable in the same color system.
MacBook Air is equipped with an M4 chip, allowing more arduous tasks such as executing and switching to multiple apps at the same time, or editing photos and videos, which can be faster and smoother. The M4 chip is equipped with a powerful 10-core CPU, up to 10-core GPU, and supports up to 32 GB of unified memory, making the new MacBook Air as fast as twice the speed compared to the M1. Compared with the fastest Intel model, the MacBook Air, the M4 model can perform up to 23 times faster. The new MacBook Air has a battery life of up to 18 hours, and users who upgrade from the Intel model MacBook Air will get up to 6 hours of battery life, and can complete more tasks on a single charge1. The M4 chip is equipped with a powerful neural network engine, which not only improves the speed of performing AI tasks, but also can reach up to 3 times faster than the MacBook Air equipped with M1, greatly improving the processing speed of tasks such as automatic image quality or removing background noise from videos.
The video quality of the new 12-megapixel “Centered” camera has improved, allowing MacBook Air users to be perfect at home, school or work. The “Center” function automatically keeps moving users in the center of the screen, ensuring focus when talking to friends and family FaceTime or participating in important meetings. The camera also supports the “Desktop Perspective” function, which can simultaneously display the user's perspective with the desktop, so as to display your latest DIY works or original models at work, making the video call more interactive.
The 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 starts at NT$34,900/HK$7,999; the 15-inch MacBook Air with M4 starts at NT$41,900/HK$9,499. Both models are available in sky blue, midnight, starlight and silver.
